Your account lets you share conversations and send work to cloud computers. Everything else works without one.
Works on: the phone app. Signing in on the desktop app and on the web is not available yet.
When Codewhale asks
Codewhale never asks you to sign in up front. It asks right where you need it, beside what you pressed, and says what signing in gets you there. On the phone you'll see one of these:
| You see | Where |
|---|---|
| Sign in to see your conversations | The conversation list, when you're signed out |
| Sign in to start a conversation | New session, when you're signed out |
| Sign in to open this | A conversation, when you're signed out (for example, one opened from a link) |
| Sign in to answer this | An approval, when you're signed out (for example, one opened from a link) |
| Sign in again to keep going | The list, New session, a conversation or an approval, when your sign-in has run out |
| Share conversations and send work to cloud computers. | Account, when you're signed out |
Each one has a Sign in button.
Sign in on your phone
- Press Sign in.
- A browser page opens. Sign in there.
- You come back to Codewhale, signed in.
While the browser page is open, the app says "Finish signing in in your browser." If it waits too long, it says "That took too long. Try again."
When your sign-in runs out, nothing is lost. The screen you're on shows Sign in again to keep going; press Sign in and carry on.
Sign out on your phone
Press your initials at the top of the conversation list, then Sign out. The account sheet says: "Your conversations stay in your account. Signing out leaves nothing on this phone."
On the desktop
Not available yet. Settings › Account shows Sign in with "Share conversations and send work to cloud computers." and the button says "Not available yet". Everything on this computer keeps working without an account: your folders, conversations, your own model keys or a local model, plugins, connectors and skills.
